2013. Another year and a year older. This is what our elders used to tell us in those days...
I think sometimes as modern city dwellers, we forget all about kindness. We are just so very, very and still very busy with our life and work, we tend to forget all about being kind and nice.
When are we kind?
- When we speak the truth
- When we share
- When we are polite
- When we are friendly
- When we forgive
Why be kind?
Because we love.
But is being kind possible in our society? Yes. True kindness does not come naturally. We need to practice, praise and love. This is why we have posters to remind us. Kindness is not free. It needs to be talked about, put to practice and praised.
We are lucky because of love. Even when we are not kind or not so nice, we still get away with it. So when we fail to show kindness as in giving up our bus seat or MRT seat, we are still loved. If you will try and give up your seat one day, you will find that not all will say thank you and take your seat. Most are kind and they feel we are kids, it is alright for them to stand and we sit.
